The wine is 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. All the grapes are from our Emilio's Terrace hillside vineyard in Oakville and is 100% organically farmed just as is our Emilio's Terrace Cabernet Reserve. Moonschlein Red Wine is Oak barrel aged for about 20 months and then bottle aged about 12 months before release. It has a nice spiciness and a bit of chocolate in the nose and mouth with a lovely soft mid-palate. It is a great wine for a casual dinner of pasta, lamb stew or even pizza. We know you'll agree. We made about 100 cases (750mL only) of the 2003 vintage. This is a very good wine at a great price, and at $22.00/bottle, (or $260.00/case plus shipping costs), it is a superb value.
